"Every surface craves dust, for dust is the flesh of time" (Joseph Brodsky)

sonic dust

the dust sweeped from the venues floor is positioned on metal sieves. triggered by trancducers different shares of the dust will fall down through laser beams. the lasers are focused on to photo-cells that transform the changing of light into sound. fine dust will make a very different sound than a grainy one. the dynamic range goes from soft noise of "shhh" or casual crackles to surprisingly loud eruptions.
